The year 1619
A few generations into the stellanav line a clear devide had started to form between Ekitona and Humans, with humans being seen as less than due to their lack of magical abilities
Sorcerers had a monopoly over medicine, the sick were only healed using magic
In order to level the playing field, some humans started to study the lands natural resources.
They started studying the human body in a more scientific way and developed medicine using plants and herbs.
Healers were widely respected within society and since humans could now be healers too the devide between the species started to close.
Cygnus Stellanavan, the King at the time was worried about this developement
Ekitona were respected because they were considered blessed by Gaia, and his rule was depended on him being the most blessed of all. A direct descendant
He feared that if that hierarchy disappeared people would question his right to rule and overthrow him.
And so, he decreed all non-magical medicine be outlawd.
Deeming those who practiced 'witches', and traitors to Gaia.
Most humans stopped practicing because of this, out of fear of being imprisoned or killed.
The last few who did continue to practice fled into the dark forest where they started their own community, the coven.
They no longer considered themselves subjects of the crown and formed their own ‘nation'.
The king established a new army base in Declan, close to the dark forest, to keep them from starting an uprising.
And while the coven tried to build a real territory for it self numerous times, the Fundamian army would destroy it each time they started to become too developed.
And as a result of this, the coven started focusing on creating weapons instead of medicine.
They started training their youth to be soldiers instead of healers, just to survive
The coven slowly turned into an army, instead of the comunity of healers it was originally supposed to be.
