Gaia created the three sources of magic as a way to prevent all the lands power from being concentrated in one being. Every sorcerer in the land draws their power from the source of their respective magic type. The sourcedom runs exclusively through the Stellanav bloodline, and is passed from a deceased source to the first person in the bloodline to be born after their death.
